Ute Adamczewski

Ute Adamczewski is a video artist and filmmaker from Germany. Her work revolves around the urban fabric as a mirror of society. During her residency at I: project space in autumn 2017 she was working on the video project I:conditions, which addresses the Chinese city as a showcase for radical transformation. In a filmic arrangement I:conditions observes routines: dwelling, work, leisure. Filmed in the infinite high rise-compounds which represent Beijing, each video reveals the interdependence between the urban environs and a protagonist who lives and works there. Within each subjective spatial description differing realities become visible.
First impressions of her video work and her experience with the city Beijing will be presented during the Beijing22 launch on October 21st 2017.
The final work will be shown in Beijing in 2018.

Ute Adamczewski is the first resident of Beijing 22. In autumn of 2017 she is filming the project I: conditions.
