For round-table about “Alternative Spaces Under Pressure” as part of IAS 2017 (Independent Art Spaces festival) Alessandro Rolandi and Ma Yongfeng brought together protagonist of Beijing’s independent art space scene that were affected by the city renovation that started in spring 2017 and heavily influenced the art scene in the Chinese Capital. The conversation was between Rania Ho (Arrow Factory), Ray Wu (Aotu Studio), Qu Yizhen(Yi Pai Hutong), Daphne Mallet (Jiali Gallery), Antonie Angerer & Anna-Viktoria Eschbach (I: project space and founder of the Independent Art Spaces festival in Beijing).

UNCUT TALKS is an act of faith in the spoken word and in its emancipatory power. Beijing22 will publish a series of interviews with artist, curators and spaces that were directly affected by the city planning of Beijing.
