exhibition view, Museum für Fotografie, Berlin, 2019
Jannis Schulze is a photograper, born in 1987 in East Berlin and based in Berlin. His body of work often takes themes and subjects from the field of journalism, which then form the point of departure for Schulze’s exploration of the aesthetics of perception and his photographic practice. He completed his MA in visual communication at the Berlin Academy of Art in 2015. In the same year he received Germany’s foremost distinction for aspiring art photographers, the “Gute Aussichten – young German photography” award. During a residency in Beijing, he joined forces with Antonie Angerer and Anna-Viktoria Eschbach to set up the platform Beijing22.
